Welcome to Makuwa Safari Lodge, a peaceful bushveld retreat in the Greater Kruger, close to Orpen Gate and Kruger National Park. Set on 70 hectares of private bushveld bordering established game reserves, Makuwa offers a relaxed safari experience surrounded by wildlife, birdlife and the wide open landscapes of the Lowveld.
With just seven rooms accommodating a maximum of 18 guests, Makuwa has an intimate, home from home atmosphere that works equally well for independent travellers, families and small groups.

Dining at the Lodge
Rates include dinner, bed and breakfast, with tea and coffee available at the lodge. Meals are prepared by your hosts in an open kitchen using fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
A pre-booked light lunch is available for R195 (2026) or R205 (2027) per person. Packed lunches can be arranged for safari days at the same rate.
The central communal area offers a casual bar and patio, with al fresco dining on the lawns or around the boma beneath large trees.
Twin Rooms
Makuwa Safari Lodge has seven comfortable en suite rooms sleeping a maximum of 18 guests. The rooms are designed to be light, airy and spacious, with glass sliding doors opening onto private patios overlooking the gardens and surrounding bushveld.
